    Silver Spring Thursday Night Concerts

    June 26th – August 14th, Veterans Plaza

     

    Silver Spring’s long running and popular Thursday Night Concerts kickoff on June 26th with Bruce Ewan “The Red Harmonica King”.  The concert series features a raffle that gives away prizes for adults as well as toys and gifts for kids.  The raffle opens at 6:30pm and is awarded at the intermission.  Kids will enjoy the games that are a part of Montgomery County’s BeActive! campaign which encourages kids and adults to get up and play this summer.

    June 26th- Bruce Ewan "The Red Harmonica King" featuring Willem Moller
    Metropolitan DC native Bruce Ewan takes the stage June 26th to teach downtown Silver Spring a little something about the blues. Ewan was deemed "a harmonica wizard" by The Washington Post, and since 1995 has shared his magic with international venues, performing across Europe and in Latin America.   The band will be joined by Willem Moller, a South African blues guitarist.

    August 14 – Project Natale – Jazz

     

    The Silver Spring Thursday Concerts are free and take place on Thursdays from 7-9p.m.  The outdoor performances are presented at the Silver Spring Civic Building on Veterans Plaza, One Veterans Place.  Performances are canceled due to weather only if it is raining at 7:00pm.  The programs are sponsored by Discovery Communications, Live Nation, Montgomery County, the Silver Spring Urban District, Montgomery County Recreation, and the Foundation to Celebrate Downtown Silver Spring.  For more information, call Montgomery County Recreation at (240) 777-6821 or visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec .
