The Second Annual Silver Spring Zombie Walk

We'll once again convene the festivities at Quarry House Tavern (at the corner of Georgia and Bonifant) between 7:30 and 8:00pm. Hopefully they've learned their lesson about staffing and band space from last year. That number of Zombies in such a small space was spectacular, and I think we can easily get a bigger crowd this year after last year's success. Spillover can always congregate at Piratz Tavern, Olazzo, or even hold "Newcaro" hostage.

Once the Zombie Mob has reached critical mass (and taken in enough beer to walk like the undead) it will be unleashed on the unsuspecting denizens of downtown Silver Spring. Last year, cars were accosted, buses were surrounded, eateries were invaded - it was beautiful. And all the same and more (in a safe, respectful manner, of course) is encouraged.

After wreaking havoc upon the Ellsworth Promenade and surrounding environs, the walk will conclude at the AFI Silver Theatre for a 10:00pm showing of one of the best modern-day zombie movies: Shaun of the Dead.

All ages are welcome. Even kids can be zombified, you know. Though the organizers claim no responsibility for nightmares or zombie aversion that will certainly follow - and that includes all those unsuspecting victims along the Ellsworth Promenade.
