Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Station Open House Featuring the Washington-Virginia-Maryland Garden Railroad Society!
The Silver Spring Historical Society and Motgomery Preservation Inc. sponsor a FREE open house at the historic 1945 B&O Railroad Station, 8100 Georgia Avenue (at Sligo Avenue) in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Featured will be the Washington-Virginia-Maryland Garden Railroad Society, who will have a garden railway set up inside the station in which the train travels through a colorful landscape of plants.
Limited free parking is available in front of the station (please do not park next door at the fire station!) with ample street parking and a parking garage available nearby. The railroad station is also an easy four block walk from the Silver Spring Metro station on the Red Line. The station is the only building in downtown Silver Spring listed in the National Register of Historic Places (although others ARE eligible!). Information (301) 495-4915.
