"Walk to Market Day" at Fenton Street Market

Fenton Street Market and Walk Silver Spring will celebrate the inaugural "Walk to Market Day" on Saturday, August 18th. Activity will center on the Walk Silver Spring booth, where volunteers will administer a survey of patrons who walk to Fenton Street Market. The survey will gather information about Silver Spring pedestrians, including demographics, perceptions of infrastructure and driver behavior, and how a pedestrian makes the decision to walk rather than drive. The survey will be conducted during regular Market hours, 10 am to 4 pm.
The written survey has just over a dozen questions and takes about a minute to complete. The video survey consists of three questions and should take slightly longer. Walk Silver Spring is attempting to complete at least 100 written surveys and 20-30 video surveys. The information will be used to broaden the discussion of pedestrian issues in Silver Spring.
