The framework of Buzz Deluxe began in the backwoods parties and bonfires of swamp-land Florida, where a young Jesse James Dale would show off his Chuck Berry licks any chance he got. After many cross-country travels he eventually ended up in Toronto, Canada, and shortly after started his first version of the band with friends from work.
Buzz Deluxe started playing regular gigs in 2002 as a three-piece standard rockabilly band, playing anything from psychobilly, blues, swing, and surf guitar before eventually developing their own unique combination of the genres. After many attempts, Jesse finally got Kerry out to play as a last minute fill-in on drums and she turned out to have the sound and style all along that the music needed. Also due to scheduling conflicts and inconsistent bass playing, Jesse found he was making up for the lack of bass in rehearsals and live shows as his guitar style began to fill in the gaps while not sacrificing any of the guitar parts themselves. After deciding to try the two-piece format they found that they received a bigger and better response at live shows, as well as greater flexibility and chemistry on stage.
Live, they deliver a mind-altering experience musically and visually as they work off of each other in a way that only two people who write and rehearse almost every single day of the week can. Kerry's primal counter rhythms compliment Jesse's ripping 'Hendrix-meets-Django-meets-Setzer' guitar style in a unique fashion that will leave the spectator mentally exhausted.
