dc motors, a Washington, DC, USA-based band may be the longest continuously running full-time rock band in the Washington area. Now in their 20th year, playing an average of 225-300 gigs each year since 1979. The band has never broken up, and plays at least 50 weeks a year, 4-6 nights a week. The band usually plays within a 250-mile radius of Washington, DC. The band plays an unusually wide variety of styles, the emphasis is on good songs. Although the band has it's own unique style, it is not limited to any one musical style. They tend to play to an audience rather than for, and they encourage audience interaction when appropriate.
