New Radio Show Seeks Movie Fans

On Saturday, April 14, 2007, the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center, located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, will be the site for open auditions for a new radio show pilot. American Movie Trax will be a syndicated radio show unique for all listeners. Auditions for radio show guests willing to talk about movies and related topics will be from 11 AM to 4 PM at the American Film Institute Silver, 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, Maryland. Participants selected for shows, to be recorded on later dates, will be financially compensated.

Participants are not required to have extensive knowledge of film theory & cinema history, but the ability to communicate their thoughts about their favorite (and not-so favorite!) movies and share opinions on movie trends and other related topics.

All ages (18yrs. and older) and genders are requested. If selected for recorded shows guests will be part of a panel of three for a lively, humorous and interesting exchange of views. “Reel opinions from new voices!” During Saturday’s audition day, participants may enjoy refreshments while completing a brief questionnaire about their interest in films followed by an interview.

Radio stations have expressed interest in new programs with music and/or interesting talk. In addition to movie fan participation, American Movie Trax programs will provide a variety of music with themes from the “Golden Age of Hollywood” to current studio features and independent films. Other components of the show will be one-on-one interviews with film industry guests and technology experts discussing products, services and innovations in home theater entertainment.
