Greater Silver Spring Chamber Presents Awards
The Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce recognized the contributions of those members businesses and others who make Silver Spring a better place in which to live, shop, work and manage a business. GSSCC’s annual Business & Community Awards Dinner, held at the Crowne Plaza Washington, D.C./Silver Spring honored ten individuals and organizations that care, that do, and that make a difference.
The 2006 awards and honorees include:
* Business Beautification Award -- GranDesign Studio, Inc.
* Business Service Award -- City Place Mall
* Small Business of the Year -- Kefa Café
* Arts Enterprise Award -- AFI Silver Theatre & Cultural Center
* Silver Spring Public Safety Award – Jointly to the Silver Spring Urban District Clean & Safe Staff (“The Red Shirts”) and the Montgomery County Department of Public Works & Transportation, Division of Operations (“The Yellow Shirts”)
* Business-Education Partnership Award -- Chelsea School & Round House Theatre
* Business Volunteer of the Year -- James Polk, Technology Service Corporation
* Excellent Place to Work Award -- Discovery Communications, Inc.
