Purple Line Update

 PURPLE LINE UPDATE: On Wednesday, May 30, 2012, members of the Purple Line project team met with community members from the Silver Spring area for a Neighborhood Work Group (NWG) on the Silver Spring Transit Center. Community members were shown detailed plans of how the Purple Line will operate within the Transit Center and adjacent areas...  we heard questions about: Pedestrian circulation of the new station, and the change between modes (Purple Line, Metrorail, MARC, Local Buses, Pedestrians, Cyclists) on different levels of the structure; Conflicts between Pedestrians and Cyclists; Pedestrian access to the Station; The interchange between the Capital Crescent Trail, Silver Spring Green Trail, and Metropolitan Branch Trail;     Station structure aesthetics...  If you were not able to attend the meeting, you can find the presentation materials on the Purple Line web site HERE 

What's Next? The Purple Line team will provide a more detailed rendering and cross section images of the Transit Center Station structure during future meetings.
