"WEEKENDER PROGRAM" HONORED BY GREATER SILVER SPRING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE  From the GSSCC News Release: "The Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce (GSSCC), at its annual Awards & Installation Dinner last night, recognized six “Shining Stars” of Silver Spring, businesses and organizations that make Silver Spring a better place to live, work, play, and run a business.  Among the honorees were two small businesses, a large business, a non-profit organization, and representatives of two county government agencies responsible for a unique program that has truly helped make Silver Spring shine. 

Those organizations recognized as GSSCC’s “Shining Stars” included:  Fenwick Beer & Wine (in the category of businesses with ten or fewer employees); DB Consulting (in the category of companies with 11 to 50 employees); A Wider Circle (in the non-profit category); United Therapeutics; and the Silver Spring Urban District and the Montgomery County Department of Correction & Rehabilitation, jointly, for the “Weekend Warriors” program."  (The Program brings teams of minor offenders to help us keep donwtown clean.)
